| It seams I have 2 species of elderberry here in southern Quebec. One flowered in may/june and is now bearing fruit. I'm assuming this one is Sambucus Canadensis.
There's another one that is now (july) in bloom. Is it native?

| Sambucus canadensis is now Sambucus nigra ssp. canadensis, by the way. Have a look at pictures of Sambucus racemosa (red elderberry) and see if that matches what you are seeing now. |

| Yes, here in NJ the Red Elderberry (S. racemosa) blooms first by a couple weeks. Also, it has conical flower/fruit clusters while the Sambucus nigra ssp canadensis has flat clusters. WW |
