Elderberry

It seams I have 2 species of elderberry here in southern Quebec. One flowered in may/june and is now bearing fruit. I'm assuming this one is Sambucus Canadensis.

There's another one that is now (july) in bloom. Is it native?

Sambucus canadensis is now Sambucus nigra ssp. canadensis, by the way. Have a look at pictures of Sambucus racemosa (red elderberry) and see if that matches what you are seeing now.

Yes, here in NJ the Red Elderberry (S. racemosa) blooms first by a couple weeks. Also, it has conical flower/fruit clusters while the Sambucus nigra ssp canadensis has flat clusters.
