problem iding a tree

i have a tree in my yard that is about 30 foot tall. oval shape leaves. it also has what i am going to call a seed pod maybe. this hangs down about 5 inches and has about 20 seeds (?) to each pod thing. the seed things look like a pumpkin seed in shape, it is a lime green color, and is kind of fuzzy and flat. does anyone have a clue what kind of tree this is. these thing are all over this tree. i would like to get a cutting to grow closer to my house. please help i am new here and am unsure of how to move around. so be gentle with me. thank you, teenie

How about catalpa? And where are you located, sometimes that helps to know.

thank you for your response. i have just now found out the type of tree this is. i am sorry my description was a little confusing. the tree is a japanese hornbeam. it is really a beautiful tree. now i need to find out how to plant one in closer to my house. i don't know if i do this with a cutting or by seed. by the way i am in mississippi.
