Need an ID

A somewhat large plant (has flopped over) and has green "lanterns". I first noticed it some time ago and the lanterns still look the same (no blooms). It is in a slightly wooded/natural area at the back of my yard.

Depending on how "large" it is, could be ground cherry or bladdernut.

I was thinking ground cherry (Physalis sp.) also...

Nightshade family, closely related to tomatillos.

Sounds just like my Japanesse lanterns,which are green before they turn orangish red...would like to see picture..Tom in Pa.
