Dear Emily Post,

I am entertaining an out of town guest for a couple of days.

This guest is a garden writer who has published a couple of very nice paper back ÂHow to books.

My question to the forum is : Should I display these paperback books along side with my hard covered Âcoffee table books in the living room ?

Would it look too forced and gratuitous or would be taken as a nice gesture ?

I usually keep my paper back books, periodicals and ÂHow to books in the office library and select a few oversized hardcover books for the living room.

Perhaps remove the oversized hard covered Art , Architecture / Design books and only display the paperback books or mix them together ?

Sort of a silly thing to angst over, but I am.

As garden writers would you find having your books displayed out on the living room coffee table a nice gesture or would it embarrass you/ find it uncomfortable , compliment you/ appreciate it , not care at all, or .....????
