garden writing

Gentle People--I was looking for a forum where people share what they write about gardening--or maybe someone chooses a topic, and everyone writes about it, and shares. Does anyone know of one? Bright Blessings! greenwitch

A garden writer named Lon Rombough started a forum on Yahoo a while back. You can contact him at lonrom@heavenet.com

    Greenwitch-
I just wondered if you ever found such a place? Sometimes... the quiet moments in my garden inspire me to thoughts that must flow out through my pen. I would love to find a place to share, as well as to read what's inspired in others.
Please let me know if you did find it.

Shake, shake! take by the ears and shake. THIS IS THE PLACE.
Write something, share (here) what you write. Why is this so difficult to understand.

Mostly because of what the intro says.... "this is a place for 'professional writers' yada yada yada...." Since I'm neither "professional", nor what I would consider a writer, but rather just someone who is moved by my garden to occasional creativity, I wasn't sure exactly what was appropriate here. Perhaps either the instructions here should be amended, or another forum should be created.

btw... acj- before you treat me like an idiot (shake shake shake, etc...) it might behoove you to read the 'guidelines for garden writers.' I don't think they are at all hard to understand, and they seem to me to be pretty specific.

You are right rokkis. I have never read those guidelines before today, I have been banging my head against a brick wall since this forums inception. I am now going to shake myself. That professional bit is a killer.

so... what are chances of starting one where regular people can contribute? (don't shake too hard... probably already banged up from the wall thing) : )

I can surely understand acj's frustration and his direct approach.Yes, it says professional garden writers but that has not been enforced. If you are interested in a forum at a different skill level then suggest it to Spike. He is the only one that can do anything about that. By the way, I personally wouldn't want to get into a battle of wits with acj since I am unarmed.
Hope no one takes this wrong as I am in a great mood at the moment - staring out the window at dusk watching the light change on my entrance garden by the drive. I must go now...Mother Nature is calling me to come see the garden one last time before it is too dark.

I too haven't read the guidelines. I think that Spike would be amenable to change the wording. I vote to open the forum a little.

acj- Thanks for the heads up. I did just that.

Wow! I am underwhelmed by the response so far. Keep it coming folks if we increase the input by 100% we may still keep it at zero.

    greenwitch -
This is a forum for discussing writing about gardens (as a business and way to support yourself), not for posting what you wrote about gardens (as self-expression).

But because writers tend to keep their contacts and plans under wraps until it's published, this is a pretty dull forum until someone gets ripped off in a contract.

Well, folks..... I did get an email from Spike (after my inquiry), saying that he was going to relax those guidelines a little. Actually, he said he was going to drop the word "professional." I'm still waiting to see it, though.
