Hi all,
Been GWing for a little while now and just noticed this forum.

Music calms the savage beast, or so, it has been said.
But can music soften a hardened heart, or thin a thickened head?

Musick has Charms to sooth a savage Breast,

To soften Rocks, or bend a knotted Oak.

I've read, that things inanimate have mov'd,

And, as with living Souls, have been inform'd,

By Magick Numbers and persuasive Sound.

What then am I? Am I more senseless grown

Than Trees, or Flint? O force of constant Woe!

'Tis not in Harmony to calm my Griefs.

The words of a mourning bride from the 17th century play of that name by William Cosgrove. Note 'Breast' NOT 'Beast'.

RE: Newbie to this forum

Gardening music only works if it's by ZZ topsoil.

RE: Newbie to this forum

ZZ Topsoil. That's a good one. I'll have to tell it to my friend Pete Moss.
