| Dear Mike in Mo, Thank you very much for your inquiry. For tougher weeds like Chickweed, you need to use a product that contains triclopyr. One example is Ortho Chickweed, Clover and Oxalis killer. One thing about these weeds is that they tend to proliferate in areas under fertilized, so I would recommend fertilizing to promote turf growth. You can always do this after applying a herbicide, as you want the grass to fill in behind the void left by the dying weed. One thing to be aware of is anything confounding your situation in the side or front yard (shade, tree root competition) and be ready to take this into account when attacking your weed issues.
