wild strawberries in lawn

How can I get rid of a lawnfull of wild strawberries? They spread so quickly that they are choking out the little grass I have left and creeping into the flower beds.
Thanks for any help,
Betsy

RE: wild strawberries in lawn

Dear Betsy,

Thank you very much for your inquiry. This sounds like a case where you need to control the weed, and then increase your turfgrass vigor (fertilize). Try a product containing the herbicide triclopyr. It will take 2-3 applications. Fertilize after your first application (the whole yard) with a high quality lawn fertilizer. You need the grass to be able to compete with the weeds.

Again, thanks for the question and let me know if you have more.

Respectfully
