Newbie in need of trimming advice for Jade

Greetings!
Before I do anything to this jade/combo, I would like to have an advice, if it is possible. Obviously, a few years back 2 different cuttings were rooted in the same pot. At this moment, I don't think I could separate them without brutally cutting through the roots. So, I would like to start with a trimming and after that maybe go to the next step.
Should I just simply cut all the hanging down branches? Does it matter how close to the main trunk? I don't want to hurt this plant instead of helping. Thank you for any help.

Because of the thin droopy branches, I would cut this back to much thicker stems, removing anything with a stem less than 1/4 inch diameter. You can even cut back all the way, leaving no leaves, as I did recently with few plants.

I like the bonsai look, with no leaves in the lower 2/3 of the plant, emphasizing the trunks, which only get thicker with each pruning. They leaf out again very rapidly, and you can't hurt them. You can root all the cuttings if you like, making lots more new plants.

Just start shaping your plant. Don't worry, you can't make a mistake. Try to give it more light if possible.
