The 'Winton' isn't a true Pinus koraiensis cultivar, it's a cross with Pinus pumila...

That Winton is really nice. Coniferjoy, are you sure that it is a cross? I have seen it listed as Koraiensis only.

Yep, I'm sure.
It does have the needles of a Pinus pumila and the buds of a Pinus koraiensis.

The 'Winton' is listed everywhere as a Pinus koraiensis cultivar but it should be written as Pinus koraiensis (x) 'Winton'
Also I've to change this at my own website assortment list...

Nate, The 'Jack 'Korbit' is nothing else then a renamed 'Dragon Eye' aka 'Oculis-draconis'.

I think 'Oculis-draconis' was the first and original cultivar name which was renamed in 'Dragon Eye' as a direct translation from the Japanese into the English language...

I am eager to have this beautiful landscape tree in the dwarf form in my yard. Also, I am interested in the edible pine nuts from Pinus koraiaensis. Is anyone harvesting nuts from their trees? Is anyone growing the Dwarf Korean Nut Pine?
