Anyone tasted Timotayo Mango?

Hello,

I saw this mango tree called Timotayo Mango at our local hardware store. It seems this is a new variety. While storefront websites state that this produces stringless mangos, some people posted that the fruit tasted bad.

While looking up and reading about the tree, I read that it does produce a better tasting fruit if given an organic fertilizer.

So my question is directed to anyone who actually tasted this new type of mango, and how does it taste please?

um...I had a TImotayo that didn't grow well for me out here in Palm Springs, but I know someone in La Habra that's tasted one and he didn't think they were too good. But of course one taste tester is Never to be trusted! :)

I've attached an article I found and actually talked to Tim Thompson (the originator of the fruit) who lives in Camarillo I believe. He told me it was one of many cold tested (meaning unprotected over the winter) mangoes and provied to be hardier than other mangoes he had been developing.

Is the pdf, you posted before? (See below link). I googled timotayo and not much info is out there.

I live on the east side of LA county, near 57 and 60 Fwy.
